Here are some upcoming opportunities and resources for overcoming racism in Minnesota:

-Be part of the planning and organizing of a second Overcoming Racism conference for fall 2010: Next meeting Monday March 15, 9-11:30, Cherokee Park United Church. 9-10 am: Collaborative business. 10-11:30: Conference planning.

-
Check out a local Community of Practice, a learning community for practitioners of cultural competence, anti-racism, and organizational transformation. The next gathering is March 10, 3:30-5:30 pm at the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches, 1671 Summit Ave. in St. Paul. Representatives from Ramsey County Human Services Department who have been involved in leading their antiracism initiative will lead a lively dialogue and share lessons learned and insights they have gained. We meet bi-monthly, and each time we gather we have two components: 1) one hour of problem-solving/peer consulting and networking/relationship building; 2) one hour presentation of a highlighted best practice/tool/case study/program/methodology. Come for all three or just the part that interests you.  Bring business cards, brochures, etc. A resource table will be available.
